Puntarenas is the biggest city of Central Pacific, Costa Rica. Located on the Gulf of Nicoya, at 75 miles (a 50 minute drive from San José), Puntarenas is one of the main harbors. From many destinies, more and more cruise ships arrive each year to visit Monteverde Cloud Forest, Santa Elena Reserve, Cabo Blanco Reserve, Manuel Antonio National Park, Tortuga Island, to mention a few splendid places.
For Costa Ricans it’s still traditional to visit Puntarenas on weekends and walk on the Paseo de los Turistas (“Tourist`s Drive”). The Casa de la Cultura (“House of Culture”) offers concerts and theater plays as entertainment for everyone. |
